Louvain-la-Neuve-Université station is directly linked to the railway junction of Ottignies, on the Brussels-Namur railway line, with two trains per hour in each direction, including on weekends.
Attention: Do not confuse Louvain-la-Neuve with Louvain (the French translation of the Flemish city of Leuven), which is another city on another railway line.
Louvain-la-Neuve is approximately 30 minutes from Brussels; change in Ottignies for the train to ‘Louvain-la-Neuve-Université’. Direct trains take longer.
If you travel from Namur or Charleroi, change in Ottignies for the train to ‘Louvain-la-Neuve-Université’.
If you travel from Luxembourg, change in Ottignies (if you take the EC 96 Iris or EC 90 Vauban train that originates in Switzerland, change in Namur for a train to Ottignies).
If you travel from any other country, change in Brussels-Nord. Otherwise, change in Brussels-Midi, from which depart all trains to Ottignies via Brussels-Central, Brussels-Nord, Brussels-Schuman and Brussels-Luxembourg.

From the entrance of Louvain-la-Neuve-Université station, you can walk to Aula Magna (6 min). From the station head towards the “Place de l’Université”. Go down “Rue Charlemagne”, i.e. the main shopping street, until you reach the “Grand-Place” where you will find the Cinéscope cinema on your left. From Grand-Place, continue straight onto Place Raymond Lemaire where Aula Magna is located.
Note: the last train from Louvain-La-Neuve to Brussels departs at 22h31.
Take the E 411 Brussels-Namur motorway to Louvain-la-Neuve (not to be confused with Louvain, the French translation of Leuven, located in Flanders): if travelling from Brussels, take exit 8a; if travelling from Namur, take exit 9. Keep right to continue toward Avenue Jean Monnet. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto N25/N4. Keep right toward Boulevard de Wallonie/Boulevard de l’Est. Next, continue straight onto Anneau Central. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Boulevard André Oleffe. Follow the signs to Aula Magna.
Once registered for the conference, you will have access to the parking lot right next to the building.
If you come by plane, the closest airport is Brussels Airport. It is a 20-minute drive from Louvain-la-Neuve. From there, you can take a taxi directly to Louvain-la-Neuve. It will cost you about 60€.
The airport is also connected by train to the train station ‘Bruxelles-Nord’ in Brussels. From ‘Bruxelles-Nord’, you can take a direct train to Louvain-la-Neuve.
The train journey from Brussels Airport to Louvain-la-Neuve lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Some flights also land in Brussels South Charleroi Airport. From there, you can take a taxi directly to Louvain-la-Neuve. It will cost you about 70€.
The airport is also connected by bus shuttle (bus A) to Charleroi railway station. From Charleroi station, you can take a train to Ottignies. You need to change in Ottignies and take a train to Louvain-la-Neuve. There are also direct coach shuttles between the airport and the main Brussels railway station (Bruxelles-Midi).
